Where is the best place to find a backpacker job in summer?

Hi, I'm looking for a job either fruit picking or hospitality wherever I could meet and live with heaps of backpackers. I'm in VIC but still making decision where should I go between Byron Bay or Cairns to looking for a job as waitress since there're many backpackers around , or anywhere else for fruit picking.
Any advice?

I would head north to Airlie Beach for waitress work, heaps of backpackers there, also there is fruit picking work a bit north and south of Airlie Beach.
