Need some info on where to start? and where to go?

Myself and my partner cant wait to get to aussie and start fruit picking or vegies' we would like to find out where we can fruit pick and get accommodation included?
Also we would like to to start January 2010 so what part of aussie has fruit picking at that time? and do we just turn up and hope for a job?
