Live in a Van or fruit picking Hostel?

Hey, my boyfriend and I need to go fruit picking and were wondering whether you would have to stay in a hostel in oder to get work. We were going to live in our van, but are not sure if that is possible. What do you think?

I prefer hostels because they set you up with the work and sometimes drive you to work. If your in a van your on your own and have to find the jobs yourself.
