Is it possible for someone to work more than 8 hours (up to 12) in fruitpicking?

I have a contract $20/hr next that will start next November, they said minimum 8 hours a day.

If the farmer needs his crop picked fast he will expect you to work the hours he says. There is no real union for backpackers who fruit pick so sometimes your at the mercy of the farmer
