Hervey Bay fruit picking :D Where to go?

A mate and I are planning to take a trip for 2 months to Hervey Bay where my grandparents live. We'll be planning to stay at their place so we are fine for accommodation but in the mean time want to still keep working and thought fruit picking would be suitable seeing as though we are both fit, healthy and energetic people.
We just weren't entirely sure which farm would be the best to go to and also how to get to and from the farm to our accommodation as we wont have a car and I didn't think that there were a lot of public buses that would venture out to them. Unless there were any in walking distance.. :)

There are no jobs that I know of around Harvey Bay, if you did find a fruit picking job you are correct about buses not being able to get you were you want to go.

there is about 4 or 5 backpacker hostels in or near harvey bay go check out the notice boards at the backpackers sometimes you can find bar jobs or fruit picking work listed on this boards.
