Harvest season this year, budget accomodation, and work.

by Adil Wada
(Brisbane, Australia)

Hi,
My name is Adil, and i am looking forward to do some backpacking and working at the same time. Last year, i got an advice from harvest national, that i should go to Bundaberg, i gave a call to a backpack there, and they said there is a heaps of work around, but as i reached there, paid my ist week rent in advance which was much more than i pay in Brisbane city $185 a week. I got no work for ist two and a half weeks, luckily i got work later, but that didn't last for long. I am in no interest of going to that place again. I heard Emerald for grape picking, Tully for bananas, and Mareeba for mangoes. I don't have my personal car and i want to work till ending February and earn some good money. So if you can help me out that would be so kind of you.

Thank You

If you are still in Bundaberg head north by train or bus you could get Mango picking work and further up banana picking work, just talk to farmers or stay at working backpacker hostels, hopefully the ones away from Bundaberg will be more honest with you.
