Fruit picking question

by Rebecca Kelly
(Gold Coast Australia)

Hi there,
My name is Rebecca. I was wondering if you have to be on a visa or an international person to be able to pick fruit. I am an Australian but am interested in doing some seasonal fruit picking for a bit of a change. If I am able to do fruit picking, how much can you make on average a week? I am wanting to travel overseas next year and thought this was a good way to make some money instead of an ordinary job.
Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

HI Rebecca, I was living in the same area as you before I moved to Japan. I am an Australian Citizen and I did the same thing you are looking to do. I was making around $600 a week before tax but there wasn't much rain around. If you get alot of rain it could be no money for a week. So to answer your question it could be $600 + or nothing a week.
