Ayr or Bowen fruit picking job

I'm Dietlind, 25 years old and from germany. Right now I stay in Townsville and would like to go to Ayr or Bowen to take a fruit picking job. I just dont't know who to contact. I always see the backpacker-numbers and -adresses. Do I have to call them and they tell me if there are jobs? Would be nice if anyone can help me!
