Fruit Picking Strawberries
Between the beaches and the mountains is a very fertile area renowned for its production of sugar, pineapples, ginger, macadamia nuts and strawberries in particular. Strawberry picking (and eating) is a popular attraction between June and November. Strawberry farms such as Koogie Downs require pickers and packers, providing employment and perhaps accommodation for backpackers. Strawbfest is a popular annual festival at Chevallum State School, held in the last weekend of September.

Fruit Picking Strawberries commences in July until November.
Koogie Downs is equipped with automated irrigatation / fertigation systems and have abundant water. While in recent years the emphasis has been on strawberry production, the rich soils, warm sunny climate and abundant water supply render`s Koogie Downs ideal for continuing with strawberry growing.

Farm Info
Koogie Downs Strawberry Farm, is one of the oldest strawberry growing families on the Sunshine Coast. At this current time they have 10 different fields, all of which are very close to the cooling facility. The closest is only 15 meters away. They are farming approximately 40 acres of strawberries in total. With four different varieties to ensure that their buyers will always have quality berry`s during our shipping season.
Accommodation: There is onsite accommodation which holds 48 people with 4 people in each room. It has male and female separate toilets and showers. Every room has its own out door seating area.
Local Attractions: Steve Erwins Australian Zoo, Big Pineapple, Underwater world, Noosa and the great Sunshine Coast beaches.
