Fruit Picking Strawberries, Between Brisbane and Noosa at Koogiedowns
Fruit Picking Strawberries
Between the beaches and the mountains is a very fertile area renowned for its production of sugar, pineapples, ginger, macadamia nuts and strawberries in particular. Strawberry picking (and eating) is a popular attraction between June and November. Strawberry farms such as Koogie Downs require pickers and packers, providing employment and perhaps accommodation for backpackers. Strawbfest is a popular annual festival at Chevallum State School, held in the last weekend of September.
Fruit Picking Strawberries commences in July until November.
Koogie Downs is equipped with automated irrigatation / fertigation systems and have abundant water. While in recent years the emphasis has been on strawberry production, the rich soils, warm sunny climate and abundant water supply render`s Koogie Downs ideal for continuing with strawberry growing.
